Erich is a Detroit native whose passion for the industry is reflected in every project he touches. Raised in a large tight-knit family full of artists, Wiemer has had a true love of all things creative instilled from a young age. A life obsessed with books, tv, music and movies; filmmaking became a natural path for Wiemer's life to take. After receiving a BFA from Eastern Michigan’s film school, Erich quickly began his long career in advertising editing for large agency brands in various Detroit and globally based post houses.
After years of mentoring under top editors around the country, Wiemer became one of the founding editor’s for two Detroit based post house’s, Start Edit and Hudson. Wiemer eventually found a home working for global edit company Beast and enjoyed his time there, branching out his network across the country. Until 2018 when Erich formed his own boutique post company, Slash/post.
Erich views every edit as a living breathing sort of amoeba waiting to be explored, developed, sculpted, torn-down, destroyed, and rebuilt again. Wiemer’s influence continues to spread across platforms having worked on countless music videos and most recently with documentary features. His co-directed movie “Meet Me at the Lindell,” premiered in 2019 and is currently running the festival circuit. 2023 will see the release of “When We Went MAD,” the definitive history of MAD Magazine.
Recent commercial works include Bud Light, Buffalo Wild Wings, UPS, Busch, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Hyundai Genesis, Under Armor, Carhartt, Morton Salt, Owens Corning, Pure Michigan, Toyota, Consumers Energy, US Navy. Wiemer also enjoys directing and editing music videos and has work for major performing artists such as Ciara, Gwen Stefani, The Roots, Daughtry, Aloe Blacc, Boys 2 Men, Bone Thugs, G-Easy, Snoop, Blink182 and Weezer.
Awards include: AICE Trailer Park competition, Telly's, AICE Best of Detroit, Freep Film Festival, Dshow Best of Craft (editorial), associated with wins at One show, Effie, Clio, and Cannes.
